This training course delivers instruction on how to conduct basic fire door checks under Regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022. It will aim to enable those with the responsibility for conducting routine fire door checks to appreciate the purpose and role of a fire door and how to identify common faults in fire doors for remediation.

Content

By the end of the course, you will have gained:

  1. An appreciation of what a fire door is and its importance in fire safety.
  2. Knowledge of the main components that constitute a fire door.
  3. Practical skills on how to conduct a fire door check using the criteria established in the Fire Safety (England) Regulations: fire door guidance published 19th Jan 23
  4. An understanding of how to report defects and options for remediation or replacement of fire doors.

 Audience

Property Managers, Facilities Managers, Concierges and anyone else in England with responsibilities for conducting routine fire door checks under the Regulations on residential buildings with two or more domestic premises that contain common parts through which residents would need to evacuate and are over 11m in height.
